so perhaps i am exactly like my parents

i like to think i am

i guess i'm thankful to my parents for trying to help me when i was failing in life

i'm thankful they decided to let me help myself

because i learnt that nobody can help me if i refuse to help myself. 

i never realized the truth in that statement that my mom repeated over and over to me.

my unconscious kept repeating to myself that i can't do it.

i kept giving myself excuses that i can't do it.

i tried to find myself, to find the person i wanted to be.

i learnt the wrong things and strayed

but it made me stronger when i realized i was wrong and stupid.

and they helped me to find my way back,

pushing me back onto the right path again.

i'm glad my parents never gave up on me even though they were tempted to give up at times and for that i can never thank them enough.

it's pretty awesome to think that someday i might be exactly like my parents.

i hope i will be soon.
